On Saturday, September 30th, this exciting walking tour takes place in London and shows you the architecture and planning of Canary Wharf – a district, which was once the center of London’s 19th century port. Now it evolved into one of the most important financial central points in the world.

The area of Canary Wharf is comparable to Wall Street with all the North American brashness and architectural boldness. During your walking tour, you will see marine relicts and wharves, as well as beaux arts arcades, post-modern icons and high-tech underworlds – an experience, which demonstrates the making of this icon of urban planning.

Your guide, Mike Althorpe, is “The London Ambler” and explores with you the politics and the various waves of boom and bust, which have marked this area. Althorpe is a London architectural historian with a passion for demonstrating the history and buildings by choosing alternative routes through the city.
